I think it was an excellent signing - Chris Hughton on Mohammed Kudus' move to Tottenham
Former Ghana coach Chris Hughton has hailed Mohammed Kudus’ switch to Tottenham Hotspur, describing the transfer as a smart and timely move for both player and club.
Kudus completed a £55 million move from West Ham United during the summer window, joining Spurs at age 25.
Though he has managed just one goal in 17 outings across all competitions, his overall adaptation has drawn praise from the former Black Stars boss.
Speaking to Flashscore, Hughton said Tottenham identified exactly what they needed and invested wisely.
“I think it was an excellent signing,” Hughton said. “The deal for Kudus made a lot of sense, especially from a financial perspective. Tottenham needed a player of his profile.
He added that the Ghana international has quickly adjusted to life in North London.
"It’s a big stadium, a big stage in England, and he’s started his Tottenham career very well. He fits seamlessly into a system that favours crosses into the box," he added.
Kudus recently marked his return from injury in the North London derby and is expected to be available when Spurs face Fulham at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
