The Matchday 11 opened with drama across the country as Saturday’s fixtures served up goals, grit and shifting fortunes on the league table.
At the Aliu Mahama Stadium, Karela United edged Basake Holy Stars in a lively five-goal contest. Adom Philip gave the hosts an early lead in the 21st minute, a strike that stood as the only goal of the first half.
Karela tightened their grip after the break, with Danlad Nuhu doubling the advantage in the 62nd minute before Eric Antwi Konadu added a third 11 minutes later.
Basake rallied briefly, pulling one back through Prince Tweneboah almost immediately, and Richmond Somiah struck again for the visitors with nine minutes left. But Karela held firm to seal a 3–2 victory.
The win lifts Karela United to eighth on the table with 16 points, while Basake Holy Stars remain in deep trouble, sitting 17th with just six points.
Over at the TNA Park, Medeama SC were frustrated by Bechem United in a cagey goalless draw. Despite dropping points at home, Medeama stay top of the standings on 22 points. Bechem’s hard-earned result moves them up to 12th with 11 points.
Matchday 11 continues on Sunday with the remaining fixtures set to wrap up the weekend’s action.
