OMP/Metro TV Secures Hotspurs

DIVISION ONE side, Kade Hotspurs Football Club will now operate under the management of Optimum Media Prime (OMP), a media and public relations company related to Metro TV.

Talal Fatal, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Metro TV told journalists last Friday at the MTN/Metro Soccer Academy premises that there was an agreement before the show started that all the academy players would belong to Global F/C.

But with Hotspurs showing better prospects, the deal was sealed with the Kade-based club instead.

He however said prior to the purchase of the club, OPM had no idea that the Ghana Football Association (GFA) would ask Kade Hotspurs and three other clubs to play for a slot in the premiership.

Mr Fatal explained that it was the administration's intention to make sure that team-mates of the on-going MTN/Metro Soccer Academy Reality Show would have a team to play for when the show ends.

According to the CEO, house-mates had already been contracted from their various clubs and the screening exercise would be conducted before the players would be allowed to join the club.

“Our link now with the Sports Academy is an expansion that would bring a lot of professionalism in the system. We can cause a stir,” he disclosed.

Mr. Oloboi Commodore, Team Manager, pointed out that housemates who had already been evicted from the Reality Show would not be able to feature for Kade Hotspurs during the team's play-off matches scheduled for this week, emphasising that according to the GFA Statutes, only players registered with the club last season would be illegible to play.

He gave the pairings for the matches as follows:
At El Wak Stadium on October 3, Fair-Point would play Zetuna F/C, while on the same day at the Legon Park, Hospurs would take on Seven United in the first week of the middle league matches.

The new directors for the team include Talal Fatal's brothers- Talal Fadi, Shawdi Fattal - and Mr. Alhassan Haruna, Deputy Managing Director of Metro TV, while the management of the team would be made of Mr. Emmanuel Yeboah and Mr. Oloboi Commodore.
