Great Olympics appoint Eric Alagidede as new General Manager

Accra Great Olympics have confirmed the appointment of Eric Alagidede as their new General Manager ahead of the upcoming football season, signalling a fresh start for the club’s administrative setup.

Alagidede takes over from seasoned football administrator Oloboi Commodore, officially assuming his new role on Friday, July 11, 2025.

Widely regarded as one of Ghana’s most promising young football executives, Alagidede brings a wealth of experience to the Wonder Club. His rise to prominence was cemented during a successful spell with Nsoatreman FC, where he played a key role in the club’s recent successes.

The former Director of Communications at Karela United has since evolved into a dynamic football administrator, known for his modern management class and strategic thinking. His appointment is part of Great Olympics’ broader plan to revitalise the club’s operations and reposition it among the elite in Ghanaian football.

Great Olympics, two-time Ghana Premier League champions, were relegated two seasons ago alongside Bofoakwa Tano and Real Tamale United. The club is now on a mission to return to top-flight football, with Alagidede expected to lead that charge.

He is tasked with implementing a sustainable management structure, boosting operational efficiency, and steering the club towards financial stability. His tenure at Nsoatreman, where he played a vital role in their historic MTN FA Cup triumph and maiden CAF Confederation Cup appearance in the 2023/24 season, stands as a testament to his leadership capabilities.

Alagidede's pragmatic and hands-on approach earned him widespread respect in Ghana’s football circles. Now, with Great Olympics finishing 9th in the Division One League last season with 41 points, the club will be hoping his influence can spark a successful promotion campaign in the season ahead.
