2024 WAFCON: Black Queens can beat any team - Kim Lars Bjorkegren
Black Queens coach Kim Lars Bjorkegren is confident that his team has what it takes to defeat any opponent in the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) despite being seen as underdogs.
Ghana kicks off their tournament campaign today against reigning champions South Africa at the Honneur Stadium.
Since their return to the competition in 2018, the Black Queens have been eager to make a strong impression.
Coach Bjorkegren remains optimistic about the squad’s chances to exceed expectations.
“Of course, we know that we are a little bit of an underdog or a dark horse," he told CAF media.
"We are not one of the biggest favourites to people, but I know that we have the quality in this group to beat all of the teams in this tournament.
"I think we can have a really good chance to be successful," he added.
The match is set to start at 16:00 GMT.
