Spanish-Ghanaian midfielder Taufik Seidu included in Atletico Madrid squad for 2025 FIFA Club World Cup
Teenage sensation Taufik Seidu has earned a spot in Atlético Madrid’s squad for the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup, marking a major milestone in the young midfielder's rising career.
Born in Ghana but representing Spain at youth level, the 17-year-old has quickly emerged as one of Atlético’s brightest prospects.
A central midfielder by trade, Seidu currently plays for Atlético Madrid B in Spain’s third division and has regularly trained with Diego Simeone’s senior squad over the past year.
In 2023, Seidu signed his first professional contract with the La Liga giants, committing his future to the club until June 2029.
His talent has been evident on the big stage—he featured in the UEFA Youth League and even found the net during a senior team pre-season friendly at just 16.
Seidu has also made his mark internationally, captaining Spain’s U17 national team and earning praise for his leadership and consistent performances. He remains a mainstay in the country’s youth system.
Atlético Madrid have been drawn in Group C of the Club World Cup, alongside Paris Saint-Germain (France), Seattle Sounders (USA), and Botafogo (Brazil).
The Rojiblancos will open their tournament campaign against PSG on June 15.
