Arsenal midfielder, Thomas Partey, scored a brace for the Black Stars of Ghana on Monday night, steering the team to an emphatic 3-0 win against Madagascar in the qualifiers for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The experienced midfielder started for the Black Stars on the matchday, partnering with young midfielder Francis Abu in midfield.
Dictating play in midfield, Thomas Partey put up a fantastic performance and scored the opening goal of the match in the 11th minute after latching onto a well-taken free-kick by Jordan Ayew and heading home from close range.
The Arsenal man doubled the lead for the Black Stars later in the 52nd minute with another header. For the second time, it was that link-up with Jordan Ayew that produced the goal. This time around, the Black Stars captain found Thomas Partey with a well-taken corner kick.
Now in total control of the contest, the Black Stars played freely and created several chances.
Talented youngster Mohammed Kudus put the icing on the cake for the Ghana national team, latching onto a sweet through ball by Jordan Ayew in the 59th minute and equalizing with a smart finish.
