It will unite the world - FIFA president Gianni Infantino defend Saudi Arabia's bid to host 2034 World Cup

President of the world football governing body, FIFA, Gianni Infantino, has defended Saudi Arabia's bid to host the 2034 World Cup.

Saudi Arabia was awarded the right to host the rest of the world during the FIFA Congress in last December.

However, the Norwegian FA criticised FIFA for the decision, but Infantino, speaking in Belfast, said: "There was a decision from the congress that unites the whole world."

"I think it was a very positive step for football. We have to bring everyone to the table. We will go to North America in 2026, then to South America, then to Africa, then to Europe in 2030, and we will return to Asia in 2034.

"The FIFA Congress agreed to that, and the decision was made after a thorough report on all these matters," he added.

Before the 2034 World Cup, Morocco, Spain and Portugal will co-host the 2030 Mundial.
