Hearts of Oak announces Legon Sports Stadium as temporary home venue

Ghana Premier League giants, Hearts of Oak, have officially confirmed the adoption of the Legon Sports Stadium as their temporary home ground.

This decision comes in response to the closure of their primary venue, the Accra Sports Stadium, by the National Sports Authority (NSA).

The Accra Sports Stadium, which has long served as the home of Hearts of Oak, has been shut down for much-needed renovation work. As a result, the club has had to seek an alternative venue for the 2024-2025 football season.

In an official statement released on Wednesday, September 18, the club shared, "The management of Accra Hearts of Oak Sporting Club PLC is by this statement notifying all of our stakeholders and the general public that we have adopted the Legon Sports Stadium as our temporary home venue due to the closure of the Accra Sports Stadium."

The statement further clarified the duration of the move, adding, "The Legon Stadium will remain our home venue for the 2024-2025 football season until the Accra Sports Stadium or our alternative venue is ready for usage."

As the team gears up for Week 3 of the 2024/25 Ghana Premier League season, Hearts of Oak will host Bechem United at their new temporary home. The match is set to take place on Sunday, September 22, marking the club's first game at the Legon Sports Stadium.

This development is sure to stir excitement among fans as they adjust to the new venue while eagerly awaiting the completion of renovations at their historic home ground.
