‘The best is yet to come’ — Ronaldo after reaching 1 billion social followers

Football icon Cristiano Ronaldo has become the first person ever to reach 1 billion followers across social media platforms.

The 39-year-old Portuguese striker currently plays for Saudi side Al-Nassr FC and is considered one of the greatest footballers of all time.

He took to Facebook, Twitter and Instagram on Thursday, September 12, to thank his massive global fanbase for supporting his illustrious career so far.

In a heartfelt message to his followers, Ronaldo wrote: "We've made history - 1 BILLION followers! This is more than just a number - it's a testament to our shared passion, drive, and love for the game and beyond."

He added: "From the streets of Madeira to the biggest stages in the world, l've always played for my family and for you, and now 1 billion of us stand together."

Ronaldo further said the milestone was a result of the unflinching backing of his fans.

“You've been with me every step of the way, through all the highs and the lows. This journey is our journey, and together, we've shown that there are no limits to what we can achieve,” wrote the Portuguese striker.

The Portuguese forward, who has five Ballon d'Or awards to his name, also expressed optimism about continuing his success in the future.

He stated: "Thank you for believing in me, for your support, and for being part of my life. The best is yet to come, and we'll keep pushing, winning, and making history together."
