My wife almost divorced me for using my kids school fee to fund Hearts of Oak - Harry Zakour

Former Hearts of Oak Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Harry Zakour has disclosed that his dedication to the club nearly cost him his marriage.

Zakour shared that he used his children’s school fees to cover travel expenses for a team competition, which almost led to a divorce.

In an interview with Muftawu Nabila on Joy News, Zakour explained that the financial decision created considerable strain in his relationship.

“I paid for the tickets and travel expenses of the team for a competition. I used my kids' school fees to make those payments, and my wife almost divorced me,” he said.

Fortunately, the issue was resolved, and his marriage was preserved.

Zakour, who led Hearts of Oak for six years, is celebrated as one of the most successful CEOs in Ghanaian football history.

His notable achievements include leading the club to win the Ghana Premier League, the Ghana FA Cup, the Africa CAF Champions League, and the Africa Super Cup in the year 2000.

Prior to his tenure at Hearts of Oak, Zakour was also Chairman of Great Olympics.
