Ghana’s Thomas-Asante shines as West Brom stage epic comeback against Watford

Ghanaian forward Brandon Thomas-Asante showcased his talent and resilience as he played a crucial role in West Bromwich Albion's remarkable comeback against Watford on Easter Monday.

The Baggies found themselves trailing by two goals in the second half, but Thomas-Asante's inspiring performance helped them claw back to secure a 2-2 draw.

The English-born Ghanaian proved to be the main character for West Brom's fightback, scoring a crucial goal with just 20 minutes remaining on the clock.

Despite Watford's early second-half strikes from Edo Kayembe and Mileta Rajovic, West Brom refused to give up.

Their persistence paid off when Darnell Furlong netted a late equalizer in stoppage time, ensuring that the Baggies extended their unbeaten run to eight matches.

Thomas-Asante's performance shows his importance to the West Brom squad, with the 25-year-old forward now boasting a total of ten goals this season.

His contributions have been instrumental in the team's pursuit of a return to the Premier League.

Although Thomas-Asante narrowly missed out on representing Ghana at AFCON 2023, having been named in Chris Hughton's provisional squad, he remains hopeful of receiving a national team call-up in the future.
