2024 Olympic Qualifiers: It feels great to be part of Black Queens - Freda Ayisi on maiden call up
Charlton Athletics’ midfielder, Freda Ayisi is excited and ready to represent the Black Queens in the Olympic Games qualifiers against Zambia after her recent inclusion in the squad.
Freda, who was born in England, arrived in Ghana on Monday night and joined her teammates in training on Tuesday.
In an interview with ghanafa.org, Freda expressed her happiness at being selected for her first call-up to the national team and emphasized the importance of support from the fans.
"It feels amazing. I'm happy to be here, training with the girls. The preparation has been normal like I'm used to at home," she said.
Freda also spoke about how she has been warmly welcomed by her teammates and has easily integrated into the squad.
"The main focus is to take each game at a time and hopefully qualify for the Olympics. This Friday's game is important, and we need the energy from the crowd. Just make sure you come to show some love to all of us."
The game is scheduled to kick off at 5:00 pm at the Accra Sports Stadium on Friday, February 23, 2024.
