‘I’ve now received all my money’ — Former Asante Kotoko coach confirms payment of arrears after being dismissed
Former Asante Kotoko coach Seydou Zerbo has successfully resolved the issue of salary arrears with the club.
Zerbo, aged 60, was owed three months' worth of salary, totaling $9,000, after his contract was terminated in March 2023.
Zerbo signed a 12-month contract with Asante Kotoko in August 2022 to become the head coach.
However, his tenure was cut short, leading to a dispute over his unpaid salary.
Despite previous attempts to retrieve his salary, Zerbo had not received any communication from the club.
In reaction, he had threatened to report the matter to FIFA.
In a recent update, Zerbo confirmed that the issue has now been resolved.
He stated on Fox FM, "I have now received all my money. They have paid my salary for three months. I have checked my account, and the money is in there."
Zerbo was brought in as head coach following the departure of the title-winning coach, Prosper Ogum.
However, in July 2023, Prosper Ogum returned to take charge of the club after the management led by Nana Yaw Amponsah had reached the end of its mandate.
The settlement of Zerbo's salary arrears marks the conclusion of this financial dispute, allowing both parties to move on.
