‘My interview with Marca is the most streamed so far this year’ -— Yaw Dabo brags
Ghanaian actor and football enthusiast Samuel Yaw Dabo has made waves in the sports world after his interview with Spanish sports news outlet, Marca became the most streamed video so far this year.
Yaw Dabo's remarkable journey began during the Uefa Champions League semi-final first leg match between Real Madrid and Manchester City when he saw the post-match interviews being conducted.
Observing that the interviewee at the time lacked the desired aggression for a football analysis, Yaw Dabo seized the opportunity and approached the Marca journalist to grant him an interview immediately after the previous participant.
He said, “After I watched the first leg match between Real Madrid and Manchester City, I realised they were having post-match interviews.
"I observed that the guy who was granting his interview at the time was not aggressive enough.
“When doing a football analysis, you need to be very aggressive,” he continued.
To his delight, the journalist agreed to his request, setting the stage for a memorable encounter.
Dabo said, “...so I asked the MARCA journalist to interview me right after the guy was done. He affirmed positively.”
Entering the spotlight, Yaw Dabo delivered his analysis with remarkable speed, determined to prove his prowess in dissecting the game.
Initially underestimated due to his youthful appearance, Yaw Dabo's rapid-fire delivery caught the journalist's attention, prompting him to inquire about the talented analyst's age.
He narrated, “I stepped in to also grant my interview as soon as he was done. If you can recall, I was speaking very fast and I did that because I figured he’ll take the mic off my mouth because in the beginning, he thought I was just a little boy.”
“After he noticed how I was doing well with my analysis, he quickly asked for my age. I was actually eager to not waste this opportunity because everyone must show his presence by maximising your potential,“ he continued.
Following the post-match interview, Yaw Dabo received a thrilling invitation to the Marca studio, where he was warmly welcomed with excitement.
“After the post-match interview, I was again invited to their studio and with excitement, they welcomed me,” he said.
The dynamic and engaging presence he brought to the interview had clearly resonated with viewers, leading to the revelation by Marca that his video had become the most streamed of the year so far.
“What even excites me most is that they (Marca) revealed to me my video comes off as the most streamed so far this year,” Dabo revealed.
