Dutch giants Ajax sign Ghanaian youngster Avery Appiah until 2025

Dutch powerhouse, Ajax Amsterdam have confirmed the signing of Ghanaian teen midfielder Avery Appiah has signed a professional contract until the summer of 2025.

"Avery Appiah, a 17-year-old midfielder, was born on April 2, 2006, in Zoetermeer, and is also part of the Ajax U17 squad," a statement by the club read.

"He joined the Ajax youth academy in the summer of 2020 after starting his training at Sparta and then moving to the Feyenoord youth academy."

Appiah has made six appearances in the 2022/23 U17 Divisie 1 Spring, scoring one goal.

Overall, he has played 33 times for the Ajax U17 and U18 teams, scoring five goals and providing three assists.

Appiah, who was born to Ghanaian parents in Amsterdam, is eligible to play for Ghana in future despite representing the Dutch U17 team for five times.
