I have coached Hasaacas Ladies 18 years without salary - Yusif Basigi
Yusif Basigi has revealed that he is yet to receive a salary as the head coach ofHasaacas Ladies despite being in charge for the past 18 years.
Basigi enjoyed a successful 2021 with the Western giants after leading the team to four titles in five finals.
However, the experienced tactician has been working for free as he has not received a penny in salary since leading the club from 2003.
"I have been coaching Hasaacas Ladies for 18 years. I'm the first coach of the team when it was formed in June 2003. I have coached all these years without a salary. My joy is seeing a lot of young girls transforming their lives through football," Basigi told Accra based Angel FM.
"I picked some of these girls from Primary school and now some playing professional football in Europe and building houses. That's very rewarding for me," he added.
Basigi is the most successful coach to lead a female team in Ghana, having won multiple titles with Hasaacas Ladies.
He also led the team to the maiden edition of the CAF Women's Champions League but lost to Mamelodi Sundowns in the finals.
