Brentford winger Tariqe Fosu sacked from Ghana camp
Ghana coach, Charles Kwablan Akonnor has sacked Tariqe Fosu from the camp of the senior national team, the Black Stars.
The Brentford winger who arrived in the West African country for international duties earlier last week turned up late for training ahead of the all-important international friendlies against Morocco and Ivory Coast.
The 25-year-old arrived in less than 72 hours to be part of the team for a trip to Rabat to face Morocco on Tuesday in an international friendly.
Upon his late arrival at Ghana camp, he was asked to undergo a mandatory COVID-19 test which he refused to comply with the directive insisting he had already undergone a test.
His insistence on not taking the COVID test infuriated the head coach of the Black Stars of Ghana, Charles Kwablan Akonnor dismissed him from the team’s camp ahead of the double-header friendlies against Morocco and Ivory Coast.
He has been left out of Ghana squad that have arrived in Rabat for the friendly on Tuesday.
Fosu who played an instrumental role in Brentford FC qualification to the English Premier League is on the verge of ending his international career with the West African nation for the gross misconduct.
