Pastor Adeboye, Wife Watch 'Agbara Nla: The Return'
Gospel filmmaker Damilola Mike-Bamiloye has shared that the General overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor E.A. Adeboye and his wife, Pastor Foluke Adeboye, have watched the movie 'Agbara Nla: The Return'.
In a post shared on his Instagram page, he described the moment as surreal and deeply special for the entire team.
According to him, the Adeboyes hosted them and watched the entire two-and-a-half-hour movie from beginning to end.
The son of the founder of Mount Zion Faith Ministries Evangelist Mike-Bamiloye, expressed gratitude to Pastors Oluwagbemileke and Titilope Adeboye for the warm welcome, and to Adeola Abolaji for technical support.
He also urged the public to support the film, which is still showing in cinemas, describing it as part of what God is doing in the entertainment space.
He wrote:
"Yesterday was a surreal moment for us all. It was a deeply special moment for the entire AGBARANLA team as Pastor E A Adeboye and Pastor Foluke Adeboye graciously hosted us and watched the entire 2½-hour AGBARANLA movie from beginning to end."
"Thank you Pastors Oluwagbemileke and Titilope Adeboye for the warm welcome and Adeola Abolaji for the technical help. AGBARANLA - THE RETURN is still showing in cinemas. Please support this work and be part of what God is doing as He establishes His Kingdom—even in the mountain of entertainment."
"From The Mount Zion Film Productions, CIRCUITS, SOZO Films, and Nile Entertainment, we say a very big Thank you. To God be all the glory!."
The Nigerian Voice recalls that 'Agbara Nla: The Return' has been setting unprecedented records at the box office. It grossed over N70 million from single-day preview screenings between September 25 and October 1, with 12,134 admissions, making it the biggest single-day preview gross ever recorded in West Africa at the time.
The movie has now grossed N170.6 million in its first four days, setting three new records: the biggest non-December Nollywood opening weekend of all time, the biggest October opening weekend of all time, and the biggest opening weekend ever for a faith-based film in Nigeria.
The film is a modern remake of the legendary 1993 Mount Zion Faith Ministries classic, 'Agbara Nla (The Ultimate Power)', directed by Damilola Mike-Bamiloye and co-directed by Joshua Mike-Bamiloye.
