'Agbara Nla: The Return' Breaks Three Box Office Records With N170.6 Million Opening

Mount Zion Faith Ministries' theatrical release, 'Agbara Nla: The Return', has grossed N170.6 million in its first four days at the Nigerian box office.

The new feat was announced by film distributor Nile Group in a post on Instagram on Monday.

Nile Group described the opening as a powerful revival, noting that the film's performance can only be attributed to God. The distributor thanked audiences for the packed cinemas, sold-out shows, and overwhelming love.

According to Nile Group, the opening weekend set three new records: the biggest non-December Nollywood opening weekend of all time, the biggest October opening weekend of all time, and the biggest opening weekend ever for a faith-based film in Nigeria.

"The revival is here. The power is moving. Agbara Nla: The Return opened with N170.6m+. It can only be God."

"Thank you, everyone, for the packed cinemas, SOLD-OUT shows and incredible love."

The Nigerian Voice recalls that 'Agbara Nla: The Return' had earlier grossed over N70 million from single-day preview screenings, with 12,134 admissions recorded during its preview run between September 25 and October 1, making it the biggest single-day preview gross ever recorded in West Africa at the time.

The film is a modern remake of the legendary 1993 Mount Zion Faith Ministries classic, 'Agbara Nla (The Ultimate Power)', directed by Damilola Mike-Bamiloye and co-directed by Joshua Mike-Bamiloye.
