Fathers Are Essential In Raising Boys – Jim Iyke

Jim Iyke

Nollywood actor Jim Iyke has shared his views on parenting, stressing the importance of a father's role in raising boys and noting that mothers alone may find it challenging to provide everything a son needs to develop into a well-rounded man.

Speaking on the Lahor Podcast, he maintained that a balanced upbringing requires the involvement of both parents.

Iyke acknowledged the efforts of single parents but pointed out that the absence of a father figure can leave a void in how boys learn resilience and independence.

He also recounted an experience with his son, noting how his son complained about being bullied by other kids, however, he refused to interfere, leaving his son to handle it by himself.

He said:
"No woman alive alone can raise a full man. No man alive alone can raise a full man. You need both. At a beach in France, my son was bullied by other kids. He came to report to me, but I did nothing. He went back, fought them and took his ball back. That's how boys learn."
