I Can Take A 10-Year Break And Still Do A 50-Arena Tour – Davido
Afrobeats star David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has stated that he does not see himself competing with younger artistes as he grows older.
Speaking during an appearance on 'The Uncut Podcast', the singer said that while music is in his blood, he plans to step back from active competition at a certain age.
The DMW bragged that he could take a decade-long break and still return to massive success, given his established catalogue. He also emphasised that music should serve as a launchpad for other ventures, and that he is already exploring opportunities beyond the industry.
He wrote:
"Music is my blood but I won't be 40 years and still dragging with guys in their 20s. Jay-z took a break and he is doing his thing."
"I can take a 10yrs break and still do a 50-arena tour. I have the catalogue. I might decide not to make another song for the rest of my life, and nobody is touching my catalogue."
