Warri Pikin Should Have Apologised, Not Cancelled Show – Ossai Ovie Success
Media personality and political aide Ossai Ovie Success has expressed disappointment over the cancellation of comedian Warri Pikin's show in Delta State, arguing that she should have corrected the venue's name rather than calling off the event entirely.
The show, which was scheduled to hold on September 20, 2026, at the Monarchy Event Centre along Effurun-Sapele Road, was expected to feature a lineup of top entertainers including Teni, Chigul, MC Royal, Dorcy Berry, Senior Man, First Lady, Zigabell, Ebinyo, GF Classic, and Honest Oyins. Ticket prices were set at N10,000 for regular and N30,000 for VIP.
Warri Pikin had announced the cancellation in a viral video on her Instagram page, citing what she described as "unfortunate divisions" in society. The comedian explained that the decision was due to circumstances arising from the divisions, but emphasized that her brand is not limited by geography, tribe, or politics, as she represents Delta State, Nigeria, and Africa as a whole.
However, Ossai, via his Facebook page, argued that the issue was not about division but about identity and pride, noting that the show was billed to hold in Effurun, which is in Uvwie Local Government Area, but the adverts described it as "Effurun Sapele Road, Warri."
He wrote:
"Real Warri Pikin is my good friend and I must commend her for her creativity over the years and for representing the Warri brand in a positive way. We love her and we are proud of her."
"The issues of misrepresentation of places within Warri and other local government has been a major issue over the years. I personally have been corrected regarding names of places."
"The right way it should have been named is: Monarchy Event Center, Effurun-Sapele Road, Uvwie LGA."
"The fact remains: Uvwie is not Warri."
"I don't think she is right by saying she cancelled the show because of 'Unfortunate Divisions In Delta.' There is nothing like Unfortunate Divisions In Delta. This isn't division. This is identity and pride."
"Since she couldn't change it to 'in Warri', she could have changed the venue to Brown Hill Event Center Warri and kept the name."
"We need that show. Make we dey correct in love, not cancel in anger."
