Temitope Osoba Did Not Die Of Cancer – Fiancé
The fiancé of late Nollywood actress Temitope Osoba, Prophet Itunu Onadeko, has offered a fresh account of her death, insisting that her passing was not linked to her well-documented battle with breast cancer.
Speaking in a recent interview, Onadeko claimed that Osoba died at a police station in Ikorodu, Lagos, contrary to the widespread speculation that her health challenges were the cause.
Onadeko also dismissed several rumours that have circulated online, including claims that the actress was poisoned, neglected, or that the funds raised for her treatment were mismanaged.
He further rejected reports that she had been stopped from driving and allegations of degrading treatment.
He said:
"In my own understanding, Temitope did not die from cancer. I received a call around midnight from someone who told me she had died at a police station in Ikorodu."
The Nigerian Voice recalls that the death of Temitope Osoba was made public on Tuesday evening by her colleague, Alesh Ola Sanni on Instagram.
Osoba's death has sparked an outpouring of grief from fans and colleagues across social media.
Refreshing your memory, Temitope Osoba first revealed her breast cancer diagnosis in late 2024 after discovering a lump during a self-examination. Initially, doctors assured her nothing was wrong, attributing the lump to her childbearing age. However, when the lump grew larger, further tests confirmed it was breast cancer.
She underwent her first surgery in November 2024, but doctors recommended a second procedure to remove remaining cancer cells, with the total treatment cost estimated at N12 million.
Her colleague, Foluke Daramola, helped amplify her appeal for financial support, and donations came in to fund the initial procedure. By August 2025, Osoba announced she had overcome the disease, returning to acting and expressing gratitude for the support she received. She had been placed on radiation therapy and was declared cancer-free after follow-up scans showed the cancer had not spread.
