Davido’s Sister Sharon Adeleke Urges Celebrities to ‘Re‑Rock’ Outfits Without Pressure
Businesswoman Sharon Adeleke, sister of Afrobeats star Davido, has called on Nigerian celebrities and public figures to normalise repeating their outfits instead of bowing to social pressure.
Speaking in a recent vlog, Sharon said society has created unnecessary expectations around fashion, making many feel compelled to constantly appear in new clothes. She urged celebrities to reject that pressure and embrace practicality.
Sharon recounted a personal incident where her team objected to her decision to wear a dress she had previously worn to an event. Despite their concerns that “people have seen it before,” she chose to wear it again.
She encouraged others to do the same, stressing that repeating clothes should never be seen as a flaw.
She said: “Last Sunday, I had an event and I did not have anything made for it. So I decided to wear something I had worn before, and my team objected that people have seen it before and they will see it again. But I wore it anyway.”
“Don’t let anybody tell you you can’t repeat your clothes. I will re‑rock as many times as I like. I am not going to let anybody put unnecessary pressure on me.”
