Kiekie Draws the Line: ‘I Won’t Collaborate With Vulgar Skit Makers’
Nigerian content creator Bukunmi Adeaga Ilori, widely known as Kiekie, has revealed why she deliberately avoids collaborating with certain colleagues in the entertainment space.
Speaking on a recent podcast, Kiekie explained that she cannot work with skit makers whose content leans heavily toward vulgarity or indecency. According to her, such material simply does not align with her brand identity.
Although she refrained from mentioning specific names, she admitted she has encountered many creators whose class crosses her personal boundaries. She stressed that her stance is not a dismissal of their talent or effort, but a matter of protecting her brand’s values and how partner brands perceive her work.
She said: “I would never collaborate with any skit maker that is too vulgar. I will not be able to collaborate with them.”
Reflecting further, she added: “I don’t have a name of one, but I’ve seen quite a number of them. If you’re too much breasts, bumbum… not that I have a problem with it, but it’s just brand alignment.”
Kiekie emphasized that her refusal is not rooted in disrespect: “My inability to collaborate with you doesn’t mean I look down on what you do or don’t respect your hard work. I recognize your hard work, but we just don’t align. It will affect the way my own brands approach my work.”
