We Can Create More Than 10,000 Direct Jobs In 5 Years ― Kwadwo Dwomo II
In a continent that is plagued with unemployment, it comes as goods news to hear one of the sons of the land proclaim that he and his team can be able to provide more than 10,000 direct jobs to citizens of his country.
He made this known at a conference called 'Everything Conference' that was organized and hosted at Kempinski hotel during the weekend.
Speaking to the media, Kwadwo Dwomo II reiterated that he and his team have created a business model that is revolutionary and which is going to change the media landscape in Ghana and the world.
He said, “we have created two new industries called community media and community PR. These two industries can employ tens of thousands of people to work in the software engineering field and journalism field. We are going to employ from every community in Ghana people who can read and write and we are going to train them on how to write news articles for readers to enjoy. Assuming we are employing 30 people in each community in Ghana and we have about 272 constituencies in Ghana, that is 8160 people that are going to work as a community journalist. If you add that to about 1150 that we are going to employ to work as software engineers on our system, that is about the 10,000 jobs that we are talking about.”
According to him, these 10,000 direct jobs that he and his team will be creating is only for Ghana. This means if his company also extends their wings to other African countries, there will be further jobs that will be created as a result. “We are looking to create more than 1 million jobs across the world. If you look at how our business model works, we mustn't employ less than 20 people to work as a community journalist. When you multiply this number with all the communities in the world, you are looking at millions of people who are going to be employed because of our business.
"Usually, when businesses have to employ many more people in other to operate, it is mostly a sign of a bad business model. However, he stated “we are proud that ours is that way because the main reason why my team and I started this business is because we wanted to help solve the unemployment issue we have in our continent and the rest of the world. Therefore, we are not perturbed that some of our profits will go into paying people to work and cater to their family.”
Comcent, the very app that Kwadwo Dwomo II believes will provide these jobs will be available to users somewhere this year and we are hoping his prediction comes to past.
