The Mischief Of Brogya Gyenfi On The Sports Ministry Is Purely Borne Out Of Ignorance

The task that His Excellency,Nana Addo Danquah Akuffo addo gave to Ghanaians to be Citizens and not Spectators should never be taken out of context. His Excellency has given the chance to the Citizenry to bring any allegation of his appointees before him. Yet, the allegation raised by BROGYA GYENFI on Sports and Youth Minister, Hon. Isaac Kwame Asiamah is premised on mere hatredness, sheer ignorance and political mischief which must be cured with the unprecedented achievements of the Sector Minister. BROGYA GYENFI claims the Sector Minister haven't been performing since his appointment, as such calling for his dismissal! Such illogical conclusion cannot function in our modern day politics.

SETTING THE RECORDS STRAIGHT;

Within 23 months in office as government; Hon. Isaac kwame Asiamah has clearly demonstrated that his appointment cannot be described as one of "job for the boys". Since the good people of Atwima Mponua honored him as their Representative in Parliament in 2005; he has been vocal on the Parliamentary Select Committee on youth and sports and became Chairman for the said Committee. His works on the Committee was evident unto all. He was among those who firecely critiqued and made recommendations for Parliamentary Commission of Enquiry led by Justice Senyo to brobe into the Brazil saga for airlifting USD3M to the Black Star camp.

With this and many more; his appointment by His Excellency Nana Addo didnt suprise many Ghanaians since his prowess in the youth and sports sector has been firecely demonstrated over the years as young Member of Parliament! In spite of the challenges left behind by the erstwhile administration at the youth ministry; he urged himself to deliver and indeed his works clearly speak today except only scaremongering propagandist like Brogya Gyenfi who will be tarnishing the hard won integrity and reputation of the Honorable Minister.

Brogya Gyenfi should take note of the following monumental achievements by Hon. Kwame Asiamah within 23 Months in Office:

~This government committment towards the ongoing preparations of the 11th edition of the Total Women's Africa Cup of Nations which officially begun on Saturday, November,17 is unprecedented. An amount of Ghc4000 was given to the Players to motivate them even before the start of the tournament. Monies were given out from Parliament and the Chief of Staff; Hon. Frema Opare to boost their morale.

DEVELOPMENT OF STADIA AND PITCHES

~ Accra Sports Stadium has been refurbished after massive deterioration under the erstwhile government. EL WAK and PRESEC Pitch was developed to serve as training grounds for the tournament. Paa Kwesi Nduom and Robert Mensah Stadia was clearly laid out to serve equally as training grounds for the tournament in Cape Coast. Finished works on the Essipong stadium. There is an ongoing work on the Legon sports stadium which will ease pressure from other stadia when completed. This project was completely abandoned by NDC regime.

ONGOING PROJECT ON SPORTS COMPLEXES

There is ongoing works on the Ten Youth Sports Centres across the ten regions which is 5000 seater capacity. These Centres shall have with it an in built Gym center, a well furnished place for training for Boxers, as well as lanes for Athletics.

ENHANCING THE SKILLS OF THE YOUTH AND THE PLAYERS

The Ministry collaborates with agencies like Youth Employment Agency and other bodies to train the Youth to enhance their skills. 5000 youth trained in Youth and Sports Module has been engaged in the ongoing AWCON.

The initiative of investing bonuses of the national team players into scholarship schemes and other oriented developments for the players clearly demonstrates his understanding of the basic needs of the players.

PERMANENT HOUSING FOR NATIONAL COACHES

By his initiative, Ghana has a permanent structure for the National Team Managers. This attempt has saved Ghana from millions of dollars that were spend on National Coaches in Hotels.

In conclusion, Brogya Gyenfi if in doubt should contact his party Representative in Parliament; Hon. Kwabena Woyome, Chairman of the Parliamentary Select Committee for sports who acknowledged the extraordinaire performance of the Sports Minister. From supra; it is quite clear that NPP 23 months in Office is far better than entire Eight Years of NDC Administration. I therefore urge the public to treat any release purporting to becoming from Brogya Gyenfi with the outmost contempt it deserves. Such allegation for dismissal of Hon. Isaac Kwame Asiamah is frivolous vexatious and lacks merit and it only seeks to sway attention from the good works that Npp is doing.
