Council calls for differentiation between two Nkawie towns
Nkawie-Panin (Ash), Oct 24, GNA - The Nkawie-Panin sub-traditional council has called for a differentiation between the two Nkawie towns, Nkawie-Panin and Nkawie-Kuma, to avoid a lope-sided development of the two areas.
The council explained that the differentiation was necessary in view of the fact that both the government and the Atwima-Nwabiagya District Assembly always treat the two towns as one town. Nana Kusi Amankwaa Marfo II, chief of Nkawie-Panin, said his town had been neglected for far too long in terms of development.
Presenting their case before Mr Thomas Ofori-Donkor, the District Chief Executive when he called on him at his palace at Nkawie-Panin, Nana Kusi Amankwaa Marfo said because the two towns were being treated as one town, every development project is located at Nkawie-Kuma to the detriment of Nkawie-Panin and said this situation should be righted. Mr Ofori-Donkor said his doors were open for constructive criticism and called for co-operation and peace in the town to enable the district assembly to provide more projects for the town.
