Ivy Barley Joins African Entrepreneurs' Competition
Ghana's Ivy Barley joined this year's 'GoGettaz' competition to reward entrepreneurs, helping to change the lives of the youth through innovation.
At stake is a cash prize of US$100,000 and it is being organized by Kwese Incorporated.
Ivy, co-founder of 'Developers in Vogue', an information technology (IT) firm - working to bridge the technology gap by teaching women computer programming, told the Ghana News Agency (GNA) that she was confident of her chances.
Winner of 'E-skills for Girls in Berlin', she said, she wanted to inspire more women to venture into technology.
She would work with her team to roll out projects to empower African women to make inroads into male-dominated fields.
'Developers in Vogue', which she co-founded this year, had so far provided free training to 20 girls' in computer programming.
Five of them had already gained employment with technology firms with five others working as freelancers.
Ivy called for Ghanaians to give her more votes to win the competition.
