I Won’t Disappoint You; Vote For Me - Sunyani West DCE Nominee To Assembly Members

The District Chief Executive(DCE) nominee for Sunyani West, Mr. Martin Obeng has appealed to assembly members and government appointees in the Area to give him the chance by voting massively in the second meeting elections for him to lead the Assembly in the next four years.

Mr. Martin Obeng, who is physically challenge said he will never disappoint people in the district when entrusted with the leadership of the Assembly.

President Nana Akufo-Addo's nominee, Mr. Martin Obeng in an interview with Dr. Albert(who seat in for Henry Lord) host of Metro FM Political talk show named 'Ghana On The Road', he said "Don't look or think of my disability(physically challenge), but vote for me and I will not fail the assembly especially people in the Sunyani west district" he stated.

"No one should be worried about my failure during the first meeting elections, because we are in a democratic era,I did not win but I have sent an appreciation message to all 54 assembly members" he added.

The DCE nominee, Mr Martin Obeng did not secure the endorsement in the first meeting as he got 64.8 per cent of the votes cast.

Out of the 54 assembly members who were present and voted, 19 voted NO whilst 35 voted YES.

He needed two thirds [67 per cent] for the endorsement.

"I have a believe that I will be DCE for Sunyani West in our second meeting elections in Jesus name.... Amen!!" he talked in faith.

"It is sad that Sunyani West district is among the three districts unconfirmed their DCEs and MCEs,this will slow developmental projects in the district" he told the host.

Mr. Martin Obeng,urged the assembly members to unite and build a strong union among themselves in the district irrespective of their political affiliation.

According to him "We should devoid of public utterances that may cause conflict and tarnish the image of the district".

He expressed profound gratitude to Brong Ahafo Regional Minister Lawyer Kwaku Asomah Cheremeh,Nananom, NPP party supporters and Members of the Ghana Federation of the Disabled (GFD), who thronged the assembly’s premises to throw their support behind him in the first meeting.
