Bob Okala passes on

Koforidua (E/R), March 13, GNA - Popular Ghanaian comedian, Bishop Bob Okala, known in private life as Samuel Kwadwo Boabeng, died at the Koforidua Regional Hospital in the early hours of Sunday.

The comedian collapsed shortly after performing at a show organised by Joy Industries Limited at the Koforidua Jackson Park to climax the inter community soccer tournament and was rushed to the Koforidua Regional Hospital.

Sources close to the organisers of the programme said Okala was rushed to the hospital after mid-night in the company of his son and some of the organisers.

A source at the Koforidua Municipa Police Headquarters confirmed the incident to the Ghana News Agency (GNA) on Sunday morning.

The source said Bob Okala's health had been unstable prior to his performance in Koforidua.

His body had been deposited at the Koforidua Regional Hospital morgue for autopsy. He was of 64 years.
