Kodwo Edjah leads HASCO to achieve academic excellence
Half-Assini, (W/R), Dec. 30,GNA - The President of the Half Assini Senior High School Students Representative Council (SRC), Solomon Adonle Ackah has commended the immediate past Headmaster for leading the school to achieve academic excellence.
According to Master Ackah, Mr Kodwo Ekyenye Edjah was the only headmaster that led the school to record aggregates 7A ones and 6A ones in West Africa Senior Secondary Schools Certificate Examination in 2013 and 2014.
The subjects include Mathematics, English and Science.
He said the best aggregate for the school that was established in 1960 was 4A ones.
The President made this known at a sending-off party organised for Mr Edjah who retires from active service after thirty-nine years in the Ghana Education Service.
Master Ackah was speaking on the achievements of the former Headmaster during his nine years administration of the school at a send-off party.
It was organised by both teaching and non-teaching staff, students and Parents Teacher Association of the school
Mr Edjah was presented with Kente Cloth and a citation.
According to the SRC President, it was during the former headmaster's regime that the Science Resources Centre, Boys Dormitory, classroom blocks were renovated.
He said Mr Edjah also set up a new library and information communication technology centre, two Internet cafés.
Master Ackah stated a classroom block and a new assembly hall complex are under construction.
He said the former Headmaster has transformed and redeemed the school from its impoverished infrastructural facilities to its present status.
The Chairperson of the School's Board of Governors and former Western Regional Education Director, Ms Rebecca Afibah Dadzie, urged those appointed to position of trust to endeavour to perform creditably despite limited resources.
Mr Edjah attributed his achievements at the school to efforts of the staff.
He commended both the former and current boards, past and present students of the school and Jomoro District Assembly for their cooperation.
The new Headmaster, Mr Gershon Kweku Tsikata, said his predecessor has successfully accomplished his profession in teaching.
