Peter Mac Manu leads NPP's 2016 campaign team

The New Patriotic Party’s National Council has appointed former National Chairman, Peter Mac Manu, to lead the party’s 2016 campaign team.

Mac Manu’s appointment was made at a crucial meeting of National Council members, Wednesday.

The party’s flagbearer, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, had nominated Mac Manu for the Council’s endorsement.

Mr. Mac Manu has been leading the party’s electoral reform agenda working closely with the Electoral Commission.

Also on the team is MP for Okre and former General Secretary Dan Botwe.

Former Chief Executive of Data Bank, Ken Ofori Atta will lead the logistics team with support from party stalwart, Boakye Agyarko.

Deputy General Secretary of the party, Obiri Boahen, told Joy News’ Kwakye Afreh Nuamah after the Council’s meeting Wednesday that reasons for Mac Manu’s endorsement cannot be divulged.

“This is a party issue. I don’t think it will serve any purpose to divulge issues. The most important thing is that we have given you the names [of team members],” Obiri Boahen said.

The Council, which is the highest decision-making body of the party after Congress, has also decided not to interfere with the court process currently underway to pronounce on the credibility of the party’s parliamentary primaries in the Klottey Korley constituency.
