Prempeh College Gets Lab Equipment
Dr. Mathew Opoku Prempeh presenting the chemistry laboratory equipment to the headmaster of the Prempeh College
Academic work at Prempeh College in Kumasi received a massive boost after the school took delivery of an assortment of chemistry laboratory equipment.
An old boy of the school, Dr. Mathew Opoku Prempeh, popularly called 'Napo', donated the important equipment to Prempeh College to help make the study of chemistry interesting for the students.
According to Napo, who is the Manhyia South Member of Parliament (MP), he visited Prempeh College some time ago only to see the deplorable condition of the school's chemistry laboratory.
He admonished the students to make good use of the laboratory equipment so that they could pass their examinations and become useful citizens in the country.
The Prempeh College Old Boy said he sought assistance from the Food and Drugs Authority (FDA) to get the important laboratory equipment for his alma mater, assuring them of his readiness to support the school in the near future.
Headmaster of Prempeh College, Emmanuel Kwabena Yeboah, lauded Napo for presenting science equipment to the school to help train more students to become future medical doctors and engineers.
He said the equipment at the school's science laboratory was woefully inadequate to train the students effectively.
Mr Yeboah said the school's science laboratory had not seen any major rehabilitation for the past six decades, disclosing that 'we have now given the project on contract for the rehabilitation of the science laboratory.'
He appealed to government to complete a 2,500 capacity assembly hall and an 18-unit classroom block started some years ago.
