It's A Hoax, Otumfuo Is Not Dead

WILD RUMOURS about the alleged death of the Asantehene, His Royal Majesty, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, has angered members of the Asante Youth Association (AYA), who are fuming with rage over rumours on social media that King of the Asante Kingdom has passed away in faraway South Africa.

Rumours and insinuations have since last week, been dominating the social media, especially Facebook, to the effect that the Royal King has died.

Though most of the posts seem to ask questions about the truth of the information whilst others condemn faceless elements behind the spread of such heinous rumours, the Ashanti Youth Association says it deeply regrets the unfortunate act and is daring anyone to publicly come out.

The spokesperson for AYA, Nana Agyenim Boateng told The Chronicle in an interview that the King is alive and kicking, and that rumours about his death were figment of the imagination of people.

Nana Agyenim Boateng said the association could not fathom why people would concoct and spread such wicked rumours about the Asante King, whose reasons for travelling abroad was to seek the welfare and development of the Asante Kingdom and the entire country.

'We don't understand why people are making such wild rumours, for what purpose, all we can say is that our King is well and would soon return from his fruitful journey abroad, he noted.
