Central Regional NPP In Shambles

The Independent can state on authority that if the surviving fathers and national executives of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) fail to step in to settle issues at stake, the party will be in abyss.

As Chinua Achebe titled his book 'Things fall apart, the Central Regional New Patriotic Party (NPP) is torn apart as regional executives of the party are seen divided.

Factionalism, back biting, disunity and greediness have settled in the party's executives tarnishing the hard worn reputation of the party in the region.

Investigations conducted indicate that, the Regional Secretary of the party, Mr. Kwamina Duncan is not in talks with his Regional Youth Organizer, Mr. Francis Ejaku Donkor. Other regional executives are also against the party's Regional Chairman, Mr. Ekow Danquah Smith a.k.a Butey.

Investigations further proved that, the conflict and disunity in the party have made Mr. Butey decided not to contest the seat again since some of the regional executives have promised to campaign against him.

These factionalisms which has existed in the party over the years has been a major setback which contributed to the party's failure to lose the 2008 and 2012 presidential and parliamentary elections with less seats in parliament.

The Independent further gathered that, as a result of these conflicts, the internet service from the regional secretary's office to the youth's organizers office has been disconnected without any apparent reason, a situation which has compelled the youth organizer to use internet modem.

This situation has compelled some youths in the region to stage a massive demonstration against such executives who have planned to destroy the party.

In an interview with some youths within the Cape Coast constituency who pleaded anonymity stated that, it was about time greedy persons in the party were smoked out to allow the party regain its glory.

These youths have therefore appealed to national executives to as quickly as possible intervene to settle any matter that exist between the regional executives to prevent further occurrences and for the party to win consecutive elections.
