Some Ghanaians still expressing shock over President Mills' death
Accra, July 31, GNA - Some Ghanaians, clad in either black or red clothes or a combination of the two colours to celebrate one week of the death of President John Evans Atta Mills, are still expressing shock about his death.
In some areas visited by the Ghana News Agency, people expressed fond memories of the late President and called on his successor President John Dramani Mahama to emulate him.
In an interview with the Ghana News Agency in Accra on Tuesday, Mr Kwame Danso, Circle Station Master at the Darkuman Lorry Park, expressed satisfaction with the manner Ghanaians had come together after the demise of President Mills.
“I am extremely shocked at the extent to which Ghanaians of all political persuasions have been united after the death of President Mills" he said and appealed to Ghanaians to continue to put politics aside until the funeral on August 10.
Mr George Boafo, Medical Director, Healthy Soul Natural Centre, a clinic at Darkuman, appealed to President John Dramani Mahama to emulate the virtues of President Mills and work on uniting all factions in the National Democratic Congress.
During a visit to the Darkuman, Kaneshie and Tema stations, GNA observed that most of the drivers were in either red or black.
Many buses conveyed people free of charge from Odorkor and Kaneshie to the Efua Sutherland Children's Park, where the one week celebrations of the late President Mills were held.
President Mills died on July 24 at the 37th Military Hospital.
