NPP Youth call off Koku Anyidoho's bluff
The threat by Koku Anyidoho, the Director of Communications at the Castle, Osu, that he would deal ruthlessly with the flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo-Addo if he dares to implement his 'all die be die' mantra, has been met with equal force by the youth wing of the party.
Mr. Anyidoho reportedly made the statement on a London based radio station recently, but in a statement issued by the youth wing of NPP, they made it clear that President Mills' right hand man's comment has not shaken the foundation of the party in anyway. Below id the full press statement.
The Youth Wing of the New Patriotic Party wishes to make it emphatically clear that it is not moved by the empty threats on the person of the flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party and other leading members of the Party, from no other person than the Communications Director at the Presidency, Mr. Koku Anyidoho.
The Youth Wing views the tantrums uttered by Koku Anyidoho on London based Focus FM, in which he among others, dared the flagbearer of the NPP not to make a wrong move, as obvious signs of desperate persons who believe that making empty noises and threats would cow the opposition into submission, or deter the opposition from embarking on the necessary measures to capture power.
We want to make it clear to Koku Anhyidoho that he is not a man than any Ghanaian, and that any attempt to silence the flagbearer of our Party or to harm him or any other member of the party physically, would be met with the fiercest force at our disposal.
We want to dare Koku Anyidoho that if he or anyone within the inner-circles of the NDC sees himself as man enough, they should attempt any senseless act and they would find out the kind of men in this country, and we promise them that they would be the first to run and leave their footwear behind.
We also wish to state very clearly that the NPP and the Youth Wing of the Party especially, would marshal every resource and strategy at our disposal to protect the 2012 ballot and ensure that the will of the Ghanaian is adhered to, and is manifested.
We are not moved an inch by these threats, and these threats would not lead to any alteration in the plans of the NPP Youth Wing to protect the sanctity of the electoral process, and most importantly to ensure that the Party recaptures power through the 2012 General Elections.
People like Koku shouldn't be oblivious of the fact that the people of Ghana have lived through worse periods and under harsher dictatorial regimes and have faced such regimes equally, at various times in our history.
The same Ghanaians who sent the British colonialists parking and who have sent one military regime after the other parking, would confront the NDC and its schemes head on, and would send it parking. It should be very clear that we are resolved to lead that charge and no amount of intimidation, violence and scheming would deter us from this task that we have chosen for ourselves.
We also want to serve notice to all concerned, from the President through to all the Greedy bastards (as described by the NDC Founder) and to the entirety of the NDC rank and file, that the NPP and its youth would do everything humanely possible and defy every force whatsoever, to protect the flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party and Ghana's Next President, Nana Akufo-Addo and all leading members of the Party, as well as every party person.
For us, one of our themes is 'touch one, touch all', and if the President and the NDC indeed want peace, then they better call people like Koku Anyidoho to order, and restrict them from making such irresponsible statements, because at the end of the day, such statements would not provide the millions of Ghanaian youth with decent well paying jobs, since it would certainly not restore the falling standards of education, neither would it fulfill the SADA promise.
