New CHRAJ Boss Resumes
Lauretta Vivian Lamptey, the new Commissioner of the Commission on Human Rights and Administrative Justice (CHRAJ) on Monday assumed office officially.
The daughter of a distinguished Ghanaian diplomat, the late Ambassador George Odartey Lamptey who lived in Liberia, USA and the UK, was sworn in on Thursday.
She attended the University of Ghana from 1977 to 1980 where she received her first law degree - LLB (Hons) and showed interest in issues relating to equal access to justice and the integrity of the legal system.
She attended the Ghana Law School from 1980 to 1982 and was called to the Ghana Bar in December 1982.
Firmly committed to corporate governance, transparency and accountability in the corporate sector, Ms Lamptey has held a number of positions over the years.
She is a founding member of the Governing Council of the Ghana Stock Exchange and a member of the boards of the Securities Discount Company (SDC) and Gliksten W.A.
For the past two years, she has been a non-executive director of Ghana Commercial Bank (GCB), where she is a member of the Human Resources Committee.
