GhanaMade Opens Asamankese Branch
Comfort Aniagyei, Managing Director (MD) of GhanaMade, has stated that the continuous opening of shops of the company across the country will enhance the availability of quality made in Ghana products.
She made the remark at the opening of the Asamankese branch yesterday. Currently the company has 14 branches located in Tema, Accra and Ashaiman.
Commissioning the new outlet, located opposite the Ghana Commercial Bank (GCB) in Asamankese in the Eastern region, the GhanaMade MD explained that the primary objective of her outfit is to enhance the socio-economic development of Ghana.
She further explained that by actively promoting and marketing made-in-Ghana products, her outfit was significantly enhancing the visibility and availability of these products.
'GhanaMade believes that in collaboration with other stakeholders, they can help create wealth for local farmers by providing a ready market for farmers and particularly rice farmers across the length and breadth of the country, who have benefitted immensely from their involvement in the rice sector,' Mrs Aniagyei stated.
She explained that Asamankese is a vital trading centre for many communities and remains the nerve centre of commercial activities in the Eastern region.
'We, at GhanaMade, believe that we would serve the people in this region better if we plant our first footprint outside of Greater Accra region in this illustrious town,' she told the dignitaries at the function.
She expressed the hope that the company's presence would create opportunities in Ghana as a whole.
She commended the government for implementing policies that could help Ghana's drive to add value to its natural resources.
'We laud government's efforts in the area of fertilizer subsidization and supply to the rice sector. Government should sustain it support since Ghana stands to gain significantly by the reduction in its dependence on huge imports of rice which in the long term does not provide our youth with sustainable jobs.
'We believe that Ghana is capable of feeding its people. Let us collectively do what it takes.
Let our government play their part by continuing to create the enabling environment and we as individuals can patronize made-in Ghana products.'
She encouraged them to buy the 'Oman Ba' fragrant rice, describing it delicious.
The company's three other brands of rice include Dada Ba, Gold Star and Northern.
