Police blamed for the death of a man

The family of a man who was found dead in a bush at Atronie in the Brong Ahafo Region is blaming the police for his death.

The family says the police didn't show interest when the 30-year-old Kofi Gruma was reported missing until he was found dead 15 days later.

Sky FM's Kuuku Abban reports from Sunyani that the father of the deceased, Ibrahim Musah, is particularly upset with what he says is clear negligence.

Musah says while the police completely ignored the report about the missing family member, they would have reacted with dispatch if a report about illegal timber logging was made.

He said when he reported the matter, for a week the police didn't act and when he reported it the second time, the police asked for transportation.
