NPP Rolls Out Training Courses For Members

Mr Kwadwo Owusu Afriyie, General Secretary of the NPP party

The New Patriotic Party has rolled out an extensive programme to upgrade the capacities of the party’s rank-and-file, particularly its field workers.

The initiative is designed to school party activists and polling station executive members on a wide range of issues from civic responsibilities to party philosophy and organisation.

It will also include specialised training sessions for various party officers at higher levels of the party. The capacity building programme is intended to equip party officers and workers for the upcoming electioneering and for the long-term growth of the party.

“This is the beginning of an arrangement that will eventually lead to the establishment of a training institution for the Dankwa-Dombo-Busia tradition.

It is going to be a permanent institution”, the General Secretary, Mr Kwadwo Owusu Afriyie, stated. Already, officers of the Nasara Wing, the Youth Wing and the Women’s Wing have started their training.

The programme also includes sponsoring known party members to study the governance systems and political party organisation in other parts of the world.

They will return and support the training of the rank and file. “The vision is to make the New Patriotic Party a world class political party and a model for others in both Ghana and the outside world to emulate.

Obviously, our history, our philosophy and current circumstances put us in a good position to achieve this,” Mr Afriyie added.
