Guinness, the flagship brand of Guinness Ghana Breweries Limited has presented the Ghana Football Association with the annual sponsorship package of $400, 000, honouring its commitment to support the senior national team, the Black Stars.

The short ceremony was held yesterday at the GFA offices, with dignitaries from both Guinness Ghana Breweries, with the FA in attendance.

Guinness is proud to be the official beverage sponsor of the Black Stars and it is committed to support the senior national team. This support started in January 1998, just before the Burkina Fasso 1998 Cup of Africa Nation's tournament.

Over the years, Guinness has remained steadfast to this commitment towards the Black Stars. In this regard, Guinness has over these years taken several initiatives, including the donation of a team bus to the recent launching of the greatness campaign, and limited edition packaging to garner support for the stars in the Africa cup of nations 2010, and world's biggest football tournament.

Ekwunife Okoli, managing director of GGBL commented that: ' the achievement of the Black Stars, especially in the recent years, are outstanding, especially, their performance in the world cup tournaments and as an official beverage sponsor for the team, Guinness is proud to show support and celebrate the greatness of the players as well as their fans.'

This presentation comes just four days from Guinness Day on September 24, a date of significance which is to recognize and celebrate the Guinness heritage, a heritage that spans over 250 remarkable years.
