Philanthropist Donates To Hospital
A SUNYANI-BASED philanthropist and teak merchant, Kofi Vinyo, has donated ten 24 inch TV sets worth GH¢2,000 to the Sunyani Regional Hospital.
Kofi Vinyo, who is the Director of Kofi Vinyo and Company Limited, said he was touched by the plight of the inmates when he once visited a patient at the hospital.
According to him, the ward he visited was without a TV set, a situation he described as sad because a sick person on a hospital will recover much faster by watching TV programmes.
Mr. Vinyo expressed interest in helping the hospital in the near future with various items in order to boost staff morale which will in turn enable them to save more lives.
The company's Communication Officer, Seth Opoku Agyemang indicated the presentation was part of the company's social responsibility to society.
He explained that management thought it wise to give back to the society after enjoying a very good working environment in the municipality.
Responding to the gesture, Head of Administration at the hospital, Abraham Asare thanked Mr. Vinyo on behalf of management and staff of the hospital for swiftly responding to some pressing needs of the facility.
He stated that the items will be put into good use to realize the purpose upon which they were donated.
