A TARKORADI based company, Gold House Limited (GHL) that is engaged in tailoring, kente weaving and craftsmanship, has instituted a programme to train Junior High School (JHS) and SHS graduates in the region to help them acquire skills.

Awulae Annor Adjaye, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of GHL, said the company instituted the initiative to prevent the youth in the region from engaging in cyber crimes that would jeopardize their future.

Awulae Annor Adjaye added that since the establishment of the company, many people have benefited from the training due to its effectiveness.

He noted that Government offered a 6-month training programme but the company has extended it to cover one year, explaining that they have added more courses to the existing ones.”

“The trainees in their first six months will be taking through all the courses and in their second six months they will then have the privilege to choose the one they will be more comfortable with,” he stated.

Awulae, who also doubles as the Paramount Chief of the Western Nzema Traditional Area, said he decided to launch the company to serve as a platform for the youth in the region to maximize their potential to become responsible adults in future.

The General Manager of the company, Kwame Darko said, “Hair dressing, Bati, Tyre and dye, Beads making will be added to pave way for women to be enrolled so that they can also acquire the skills,” he noted.

Mr. Darko further stated that hostel accommodation would be provided to trainees who live outside Tarkoradi.

“Is the dream of this organization to have branches in all the regions of the country in the next 10 years to allow more young people to have access to this training,” he added.

Some of the trainees expressed their profound gratitude to management and staff of the organization.

The trainees urged young people in the country, who could not further their education to the tertiary level due to financial problems, to take the advantage of the programme.

“Because we are highly educated it helps us a lot; any formula that is given by the instructors easily click due to our open minds,” they stated.
