Mr. Kwesi Nyantakyi, GFA president
King Faisal's Chief Executive Mr. Vincent Odotei's incessant verbal attack of GFA President Mr. Kwasi Nyantakyi's administration has incensed the latter. As a result, Mr. Nyantakyi has retorted in a manner that is contrary to his usual cool and calm nature, by responding to the King Faisal boss that he has nothing to show by way of credentials as a football administrator.

Mr. Odotei had earlier stated that the current FA had done little to change the fortunes of Ghana soccer, citing the low patronage of fans to the various league centers in the recent past. 'Football should be managed by people who do not see soccer as just entertainment, but should be considered as a tool to achieve other results, regrettably and unfortunately, we are not experiencing that in our league,' Mr. Odotei said.

And reacting to Mr. Odotei's  assertions  on  Happy FM's mid morning sports show on Monday, he noted that  Mr. Odotei is dishones and that he failed to live up to expectation as a member of the FA sponsorship committee.

Mr. Nyantakyi's beef with the King Faisal CEO was that he failed to give reasons for the downward trend of the local league, stating that 'Instead of addressing what has accounted for the alleged poor running of the league, he is rather talking too much and he is a dreamer.'

'I am a key stakeholder in sports, I don't have a problem with him contesting the FA presidency, but whether he will win or not depends on the choice of the delegates at congress next year.

'Ordinarily, I wouldn't react like this, but I think he is talking too much, and he is swallowed by lies and dishonesty,' added Mr. Nyantakyi.

The FA boss revealed that under his reign, the FA has chalked many successes, notable among them are qualifying to two successive World Cup tournaments, winning the U-20 World Cup, reaching the 2010 Nations Cup finals, as well as the CHAN final, among other feats.

He noted these enviable feats of the FA are enough evidence to stop the King Faisal CEO from propounding non-existent stories to discredit the Nyantakyi-led FA.

The FA chief said that as a key sports stakeholder, he does not envisage Mr. Odotei becoming a better successor, taking into account his lack of credibility. 'He appears to know it all, but he does not in actual fact. He is just dreaming because he has nothing to offer Ghana soccer, and the ability to win the FA seat resides in the hands of delegates and not his ability to discredit people with lies,' was Mr. Nyantakyi's response to some of the allegation.
