IT HAS NOW emerged that the widely-circulated sex video on the campus of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) was a 'tit-for-tat' act.
Additionally, DAILY GUIDE has learnt that huge amounts of money exchanged hands over the said video tape labeled 'KNUST PORNO' featuring, Botuo and a certain fair coloured lady christened 'Junky'.
Not in the least amused by the publicized sizzling sex video involving the two first year students of the university, authorities have vowed to crack the whip on students connected to the recorded hot sexual encounter.
The university authorities have therefore instituted a committee to investigate the incredible 52-minute sex video involving Botuo and Junky, both first year civil engineering students and residents of Queens Hall, who were having hot rounds of sex in a bunk bed.
The committee, according to the university's Relations Manager, Solomon Panford, has been given the mandate to investigate the video recording and recommend appropriate sanctions for the students involved.
He explained that the committee, as part of its terms of reference, is to investigate whether the said students in the video are really students of the university and also find out the circumstances leading to the recording, as well as all those involved in the circulation of the video.
Mr. Panford told DAILY GUIDE in an interview that the committee was given a week to complete its investigations and present its report to the Vice Chancellor for appropriate disciplinary actions.
When asked to disclose the composition of the committee, Mr. Panford declined, arguing that due to the critical nature of the work of the committee, it was important for their identities to be protected.
He however assured that the committee was made up of men and women of integrity who can be expected to do a good job which will inform the authorities on what to do as their next line of action.
Mr. Panford pointed out that the one week ultimatum given to the committee to conclude its investigations expired on Monday but indicated that he was yet to be furnished with details of the report.
He noted that because the university was officially on vacation, details of the report as well as appropriate recommended disciplinary actions would be known and effected after the university resumes in three months time.
Though the university's Relations Manager would not confirm rumours that the two students captured on the video and other two students connected to the recording have been sacked from the university, rumours are rife to that effect.
The other two students, who according to grapevine reports have been sacked, include the roommate of the male student (Botuo) who clandestinely used his laptop to do the recording and the other student who made the recording public.
Investigations conducted by DAILY GUIDE indicate that Botuo's roommate decided to use his laptop to secretly record his sexual encounter as a means of seeking revenge over a trivial issue.
The paper gathered that Botuo one time reported a misdeed of his roommate to authorities who, after investigating the matter, preferred disciplinary actions against him.
The roommate is alleged to have poured water into a tin of milk after consuming the contents and sealed it for his friend, who got offended with the act.
This action of Botuo, sources indicated, infuriated his roommate, who vowed to teach Botuo a bitter lesson and therefore decided to covertly record his sexual encounter and make it public.
DAILY GUIDE gathered that Botuo's roommate, after successfully recording the sexual encounter, took time and edited the video and labeled it 'KNUST PORNO' featuring K. G… and Junky.
Information available to DAILY GUIDE has it that Botuo, after realizing that his roommate has recorded his sexual encounter, pleaded with people at the hall to entreat him (his roommate) to delete the recording.
Sources said Botuo's roommate agreed to delete the recording, which was done in February this year, from his laptop, after huge sums of money had exchanged hands.
After deleting the said recording from the laptop, Botuo's roommate, DAILY GUIDE was told, subsequently sold the laptop to another student from Unity Hall.
This student, after taking delivery of the laptop, sources said, installed a software which unfortunately retrieved all deleted information on the laptop, including the sex video.
DAILY GUIDE gathered that when Botuo was hinted that his sex video has been recovered at Unity Hall, he made attempts to stop the one in possession of the video from making it public by agreeing to pay some amount of money.
Unfortunately, before Botuo could raise the said amount and pay to the guy in whose custody the video was, the recording was made public and students had copies on their mobile phones and laptops, viewing it at their leisure hours.
Meanwhile, reports reaching DAILY GUIDE indicate that Botuo and Junky had been lovers since their secondary school days in the Eastern Region, where Botuo attended St Peters High School, whereas Junky was a student at Aburi Girls High School.
