Amodu Demands $2M Compensation For Dismissal
Former Nigeria Super Eagles coach, Shuaibu Amodu, has demanded a compensation of 300 million naira (about $2 million) from the NFF (Nigeria Football Federation) after he was demoted last month to take charge of the B-team home based Eagles.
In a report posted on MTNFootball.com, Amodu, who was replaced by the Swede Lars Lagerback, is asking for 135 million naira for the remaining part of his contract, which was to have ended in July.
He is also asking for another 165 million naira as a bonus for qualifying Nigeria to the 2010 World Cup. Amodu has already taken his case to the Court of Arbitration for Sports (CAS).
Ironically, Amodu also qualified the Super Eagles to the 2002 World Cup but was axed after a squabble with the country's top officials, allowing Adeboye Onigbinde to lead Nigeria to the World Cup.
