Quashigah Laid To Rest
The body of the late Major Courage Quashigah (retd), former Minister of Food and Agriculture and Health in the Kufuor administrationhas ben laid to rest at his home town, Kedzi, near Keta.
The funeral was attended by thousands of people from all walks of life including Service Commanders and a high-powered government delegation led by the Minister of Defence, Lt. General Joseph Henry Smith (retd).
Also present at the ceremony last Saturday, was former President John Agyekum Kufuor and some former Ministers of State.
The body, which earlier lay in state at the Burma Camp, arrived at Keta last Friday night amid firing of musketry and wailing of mourners from the town and the surrounding communities.
When the casket containing the body was opened for viewing, there was a rush by the people to pay their last respects to the former gallant soldier and Minister of State, prompting the security to intervene to maintain order.
Reverend Peter Edudzi Sepoga, who delivered the sermon, described Major Quashigah as a man who achieved a lot and paid his dues to the nation.
He described the dfeceased as an accomplished soldier and former Minister of State, team player, teacher and relationship builder, adding that Major Quashigah would be remembered for his immense contribution to society.
Reverend Sepoga challenged Ghanaians to build a memorial for themselves so that they could be remembered when they passed into eternity.
